Luke Bromley is pursuing a double major in History and Chemistry. In high school, he co-founded the Queer Advocacy Club, an organization focused on raising awareness of legislation impacting the LGBTQ+ community. This experience reinforced his interest in civic dialogue and broadened his approach to education as a form of advocacy.
Luke’s favorite novels—The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin, All the King’s Men by Robert Penn Warren, and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens—span genres but share a common focus on ambition, identity, and moral complexity. Empathy is central to his personal values, and he credits his parents with helping him understand the importance of learning and compassion.
At IU, he found a strong sense of belonging during the Wells Interview Weekend, where conversations with students and faculty helped affirm his choice to attend. Whether in the classroom or over a strategy board game, Luke values thoughtful dialogue and seeks to understand the systems that shape both individual lives and broader communities.
Luke will hold the Luther S. and Louise Roehm Scholarship.
