Sam Greenfield

Man with medium length dark hair wearing a burgundy polo shirt smiling against a background of greenery
Pronouns:
He/Him

Sam comes from Indianapolis and will be studying computer science at IU. What attracted him to IU were the multiple opportunities offered by IU’s growing computer science and AI programs, which will allow him to meld his many interests. Sam is proud of his work on the High-Ability Equity Committee for Lawrence Township Schools and for helping to advance equity in the classroom. He would like to thank his AP Research teacher, Mr. Anthony Wong, for encouraging him to follow his passions. Sam, who has long been involved with Jewish youth groups, is excited to join IU’s Hillel. He also eagerly anticipates playing with the all-campus orchestra. He would love to study in Israel, which not only has great cultural significance but is also a hotspot for technology. He loved having new responsibilities this summer as a camp counselor for Goldman Union Camp. His most important value is equity: “In the struggle for an equitable world, progress is slowly made and the intentions behind our actions lead to further change.” Sam will hold the John W. and Margaret H. Biddinger Scholarship and the Beverly Railsback Scholarship.
