Jackson Shinkle

Man with medium length blond hair wearing a light blue, white and red plaid shirt smiling against a background of greenery
Pronouns:
He/Him

Jackson is from Louisville, Kentucky. His chosen major at IU is political science (on a pre-law track), and he is excited to make use of the many connections and opportunities this large campus will offer him. He has played the bass clarinet for seven years in all-state and honor ensembles and considers this one of his most rewarding experiences. Jackson admires the American fashion icon Rick Owens (“an ambitious revolutionary”), and his favorite author is Bill Watterson (“I practically grew up on Calvin and Hobbes”). A motto that resonates with him is Martin Luther’s dictum that even if he knew the world was going to pieces tomorrow, he would still plant his apple tree today. He wants to thank his parents for their constant support through his personal and academic endeavors. His most exhilarating experience? Winning the regional championship with his varsity soccer team. Kindness and compassion are his most important values. Jackson will hold the Wiliam D. Rhodes #1 scholarship.
