Manav enjoys literature and new experiences. His favorite author is Khaled Hosseini, whose books masterfully blend fact and fiction, evoking deep emotions and providing insights into his Afghan heritage. Manav is particularly moved by Hosseini’s ability to create vivid characters and compelling stories.
Manav’s happy place is his childhood best friend’s treehouse, a space that has served as a sanctuary of imagination and adventure during his youth. It continues to remind him of the wonder and innocence of childhood.
In his hierarchy of values, new experiences top the list. Manav finds joy in engaging in new activities with friends and family, whether it’s exploring a new country or spending time at a national park. He believes that these experiences are more enriching than material possessions. One of Manav’s newfound hobbies is pickleball, a sport he initially dismissed but grew to love after a friend encouraged him to try it. Now, pickleball is a favorite pastime for Manav and his friends. At IU, Manav plans to major in Biotechnology on a pre-med track and will hold the Alice Adele Freese Scholarship.
