Ella (she/her) will be majoring in environmental management and public policy. An important reason for choosing IU was Ella’s desire to surround herself with new people and new perspectives. During her time on campus, she anticipates becoming involved in many extracurricular activities, especially those that emphasize being outdoors. Ella would like to study in Spain, since she is, in her own words, “infatuated with Spanish language and culture.” Her favorite writer is Margaret Atwood, and you might find her in one of Bloomington’s small coffee shops catching up on her reading. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is Ella’s personal model for the courage and confidence she wants to emulate in her own life. Ella wants to thank her parents for supporting her in all areas of her life, and not just academics. She will hold the Shoemaker/Mid-Century scholarship in the Wells Scholars Program.
