As a child, Reagan (she/her) dreamed of being a doctor. Her interests haven’t strayed very far in the intervening years, and she now hopes to major in biology and pursue medical research. IU’s emphasis on academics and research is what original drew her attention, and she also looks forward to finding a community of people who are equally excited and nervous to start on the next stage of their lives! She has been involved in a project researching cancer enzymes through Boise State in her hometown and plans to continue lab work at IU, and she also hopes to join the Marching Hundred and experience all the things that make college great. Reagan hopes to study abroad in either Germany, for its amazing scientific research communities, or Spain, to test her language skills. Her favorite place stateside is Rockaway Beach, OR, where she enjoys visiting family, sampling local eateries, and putting her competitive swimming skills to the test. Regan’s family is at the top of her list of people she’s grateful for, including her parents who have supported her through all of life’s joys and trials, and her siblings who have helped her grow and offered much needed comedic relief. She is the first Scholar from Capital High School and will hold the Jerry Yeagley scholarship.
