STEM and the performing arts are Meghan’s (she/her) two greatest passions, and she chose IU for its strong reputations in both fields as well as its beautiful campus and welcoming environment. She will major in physics and eagerly anticipates befriending people who share her interests and love of learning. In addition to science, Meghan is an experienced dancer, singer, and actress, as well as a lover of literature: her long-time favorites include Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling, the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, and anything by the authors J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Charles Dickens. Her favorite films include the Star Wars saga and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, so it comes as no surprise that she wishes she could travel to Middle-earth! Meghan’s favorite place on this Earth is Glacier National Park in Montana and some of her most exhilarating life experiences are hiking in the Rockies. Meghan would like to thank her parents for their unconditional love and support. She is the first student from St. Cecilia Academy and will hold the Arthur & Thelma Karch and Jefferson Shreve scholarships.
