While he plans to major in audio engineering and sound production, Keegan (he/him) picked IU not only for its excellence in music but also for its limitless resources across many academic subjects and opportunities to get involved both on campus and in town. No stranger to community engagement, he is the fourth Scholar from University High School and the proud founder of its UChella music festival. He is well-pleased with the outcomes of the annual event, both in the positive experiences of attendees and the money raised for charity. He’d like to experience the Cannes Film Festival one day to see the films and explore the beautiful architecture around the city. More fantastically, he wants to sample the food and enjoy the mood in the bathhouse of the film Spirited Away! Keegan would like to thank his high school mentor Jake Thurman for his unconditional support of various projects and ideas over the last four years and his parents for their trust and guidance in his academic, extracurricular, and athletic careers as well as the crucial role they’ve played in forming his sense of personal accountability and initiative. He will hold the Byron Elliot and Robert A. Lucas scholarships.
