Woodrow Murray

Portrait of Woodrow Murray
Hometown:
Indianapolis, IN

Offered the chance to meet anyone from history, Woodrow (he/him) is torn between Peyton Manning from the Colts, his favorite NFL team, or Ludwig van Beethoven, his favorite classical composer. Woodrow will study music composition and math and decided to attend IU specifically for its world-class music school and composition program. He is also eager to follow in the footsteps of family members who have attended IU and looks forward to meeting new people, exploring campus, taking interesting classes, and enjoying traditional college experiences like attending football and basketball games. Woodrow is still deciding where he might like to study abroad, but New Zealand ranks high on his bucket list of travel destinations. His proudest achievement was attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and the most exhilarating thing he has ever done is ride the 420 ft. tall, 120 mph Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. His three favorite books are The Martian by Andy Weir, A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, and What If? by Randall Munroe. Woodrow would like to thank his parents. He is the eighteenth Scholar from North Central High School and will hold the Marita Scherer and Indiana University Credit Union scholarships.
