Rose Schnabel

Rose Schnabel
Hometown:
Zionsville, IN

Biography

Rose, the third Scholar from the International School of Indiana, will pursue majors in biology and Spanish with hopes of becoming a biomedical researcher. She sees IU as her perfect fit for its top tier biology research labs and faculty, as well as its well-equipped Spanish department offering deep exposure to language and culture. She’s most excited to meet people from different backgrounds and to get to know them through classes, clubs, and trips abroad, and she knows she will relish the independence and freedom to explore new interests that college offers. She wishes it were possible to sit down with both Ellen DeGeneres and Mister Rogers, her childhood role models, in the same room to learn how to cultivate their unceasing spirits of generosity, support, and kindness. Her trademark is a tiny gold and silver watch always worn on her left wrist. Rose would like to thank her siblings for showing her the joys of IU and being her greatest role models; her parents for giving her so many opportunities to learn, travel, and explore; and the whole Wells Scholars team for their support and generosity. She will hold the J. Peter Grace and Nycha Schlegel & Bill Loos scholarships.
