Peyton Eaton

Peyton Eaton
Hometown:
Washington, IN

Biography

Peyton chose IU for its almost endless number of opportunities that will help him explore his interests and meet a lot of amazing people. He is undecided on a course of study at the moment, but his top choices are computer science, intelligent systems engineering, or political science. He has a special interest in the geography and political history of Europe, and can accurately doodle and label a map of the continent from memory. Peyton would like to have visited Florence under the rule of Lorenzo de’ Medici when science and culture flourished and the many small Italian states had separate governments. Peyton’s extended Amish/Mennonite family have gifted him with some interesting colloquialisms which he has become known for, such as the phrase “sweated wet”! Peyton would like to thank his guidance counselor Chastity Sward for her diligent assistance in submitting scholarship applications; his teachers Jordan and Jessica Guin for going above and beyond what it means to be an educator and celebrating with him through the lows and the highs; and his parents and grandparents for countless hours of attention and making him into the person he is today. He is the second Scholar from Barr-Reeve Middle/High School and will hold the Anderson Foundation and J Bruce & Helen Merritt scholarships.
