Australian National University Study Abroad Informational Session
Join the Office of Overseas Study and the Wells Scholars Program in welcoming Patrice McLellan, manager of global programs at The Australian National University (ANU), for a special presentation about this study abroad opportunity "down under."

Cheer on senior Scholar Caroline Santiago Turner as she performs the role of Chris Hargensen in IU Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance’s production of Carrie: The Musical! The show runs April 13-16, and we have secured a special chance for Wells Scholars to attend the show on Saturday, April 16 at 7:30pm.

Patten Dinner with Anthropologist Dame Alison Richard
Wells Scholars and HHC students are invited to a meeting with the Patten Lecture Foundation's April guest Dame Alison Richard, a senior research scientist in the Department of Anthropology and the Franklin Muzzy Crosby Professor Emerita of the Human Environment at Yale University. WSP is co-hosting a visit by the Brazilian visual and performance artist Anita Ekman. She will be giving a presentation on "Embodying the Rainforest: Art, Archaeology, & Resistance in South America" next Wednesday, April 6, 3-4:30 in GA 3134. Reception at Harlos House to follow.

WSP invites you to a panel and discussion on Thursday, March 3 from 7-8p, with distinguished recent alumni Rebecca Ferber, Neha Srinivasan, Cat Xu, and Michael Auslen (bios below). The panelists will talk about their post-graduation journeys: though they’ve all been to or plan to attend graduate school, none of them pursued advanced studies immediately after IU.

From Hutton to White House: A Hutton Alum Reflects
Professor Claussen reflects on the path she has travelled from her time as a Wells Scholar in the Hutton Honors College, through Yale Law School, and a career that, so far, has included work as Associate General Counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, dispute settlement and labor rosters of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, and as an invited member of the Biden-Harris Transition Team.
Due to IU COVID precautions, no refreshments will be served at events until further notice. -
Berlin/Bloomington: A Transatlantic Dialogue Part III
The WSP invites interested Wells Scholars to participate in our ongoing project called “Berlin/Bloomington: A Transatlantic Dialogue,” which facilitates conversations between Wells Scholars and students from the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. This program will take place under the auspices of the Indiana University European Gateway in Berlin.
Part III features IU Professor Irit Dekel, an expert on Holocaust memorialization, to kick off the discussion by talking about remembering the Holocaust and antisemitism in Germany.

A Conversation with Patten Lecturer Frances Moore Lappé
During her visit, Lappé will be giving two public lectures: Diet for a Small Planet: From Choice to Necessity and Hiding in the Climate Crisis: Honest Hope in Democratic Action. The small group conversation setting allows for participants to engage in conversation with a prominent thought leader.

Volunteer activities vary based on the needs of the garden at that time, but will likely include something such as planting, harvesting, watering, mulching, maintaining trails/pathways, weeding, or other projects.

Amanda will present information on the basics of selecting and applying for programs, academic credit, fitting an experience abroad into your academic planning, and more, plus you’ll have the chance to ask her any lingering questions.
