Noah Plodzik is majoring in Law and Public Policy. He is most proud of revitalizing his high school’s Interact Club to expand access to volunteer opportunities for students who did not meet traditional academic eligibility criteria. His efforts created a more inclusive space for community service and broadened participation among his peers.
A first-generation college student, Noah’s connection to Indiana University began through the federally funded GEAR UP program. His early experience visiting IU and later attending its Precollege Academy played a formative role in shaping his educational goals and introducing him to the Wells Scholars Program. He credits IU with helping him find a welcoming academic community and a clear path to higher education.
Noah’s approach to leadership is shaped by a strong belief in care as a foundational value. He sees it as central both to how people relate to one another and to how systems should serve those most often overlooked. He draws additional inspiration from figures in history who have prioritized collective well-being over personal advancement.
His academic interests are complemented by an affinity for philosophy and literature, particularly the work of Albert Camus, whose life and writing underscore the challenges and value of persistence in the face of adversity.
Noah will hold the Cummins Engine Company Scholarship.
