Ethan Braswell is a Music Business major with an interest in recorded music and the music industry. His interest began at age 11 when he received a record player and a copy of Metallica’s Master of Puppets on vinyl, which sparked what would become an extensive and diverse record collection. This early exposure contributed directly to his decision to pursue music business academically.
Ethan identifies his parents as key influences, particularly in shaping his work ethic and values, and instilling in him basic values, such as practicing kindness to others. He notes that a class with Professor Michael Sammis at IU confirmed his decision to enter the program. The course, “Music, Media, and Monetization”, offered both practical insight and access to professional opportunities and played a key role in shaping Ethan’s expectations for his academic path and future career.
Ethan will hold the James and Virginia Cozad Scholarship and the Robert L. and Margaret Gary Sutter Scholarship.
