Adela Krenz is majoring in Microbiology and Data Science, with academic interests that include virology, language acquisition, and cross-cultural learning. A Bloomington native, she became involved with Indiana University well before enrolling as an undergraduate—taking on-campus courses, studying piano with university faculty, and working in a virology lab.
She is especially proud of receiving the Best Delegate award at the Indiana Model United Nations Conference, not just for the award itself but for the personal growth it symbolized. Gaining confidence in public speaking and leadership has contributed to her broader success in music performance and student government.
In addition to her work in science, Adela is passionate about learning Korean. Her study of the language reflects a broader interest in Korean culture and her belief in language learning as a bridge to deeper understanding. She also continues to develop her Russian skills and enjoys spending time abroad in both Seoul and Zurich, where she connects with extended family and immerses herself in daily life abroad.
Adela will hold the LaVelle Fortenberry #1 Scholarship and the Indiana University Credit Union Scholarship.
